A man was arrested in Manhattan Friday afternoon after police say his son was allegedly under surveillance. A search warrant at the scene of the alleged arrest took the suspect to the Albany Police Department.
Police say that the suspect was a woman who had been taking Viagra. When officers arrived at the residence, they found a package hidden in a closet and a bottle of pills. According to the arrest affidavit, the man said he was “under investigation” for using the Viagra prescription to treat erectile dysfunction. When asked about his name, the suspect told officers that he was a retired Army man. When asked about the bottle of pills, the suspect said the bottle contained 100 pills. “The bottle was not a legitimate prescription drug,” the suspect said.
Police say the suspect was seen selling the pills to customers, who then purchased a supply of Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs, from a residence. During a search of the residence, a search warrant was executed, and officers found an array of bottles of Viagra, including pills that the suspect allegedly purchased from the store.
The suspect allegedly took the drugs to a customer, who then sold the pills to customers at a convenience store. While the suspect is not charged with any of the crimes, he is free on $5,000.00, the victim of the alleged crimes is free on $50,000.00.
The suspect, who is believed to be a resident of New York, is being held without bond. He has been charged with two felony counts of trafficking drugs in interstate commerce.
